Book Launch: POMO Architecture of Privatization

POMO – Architecture of Privatization was published in 2021 by the Built Heritage Research Center.

Celebrating the launch of their book, architects Jeremie Hoffmann and Elad Horn will discuss the new architectural language Tel Aviv-Yafo adopted throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

The book examines the local postmodern architecture not only as a style, influenced by Western forms and images, but mainly as an expression of a radical cultural shift that started with the 1977 political upheaval and ended in the early 2000s. The book explores the evolution of the architectural language through the works of architects who were quick to creatively adapt to the new economic and political conditions.
